Most clubs meet weekly and participate in tournaments bi-weekly. We use chess to teach problem solving skills to young students. Students who are proficient in chess have fewer behavioral problems in school and perform better academically.
A Minneapolis Public School team has finished in Second Place or better in the state every year since 2002. We have had five state champions, two national team champs, ........and three individual national champions.
